NOMAD Electric Bicycle Concept

The Nomad Electric Bicycle was designed for todays novice cyclist who desires to travel to work on an integrated electric bicycle. Features a rechargeable battery with a traveling distance of 50 miles, convenient storage glove box, and an easy to read display on the handlebars.

Project Duration: Spring 2017 (15 Weeks)
Rider Survey

Before designing this bicycle I created a survey for bicycle/ electric bicycle riders to understand their reasonings behind their transportation choices. Over 100 people responded giving a variety of answers, some I expected and others I was did not consider when initially coming up with this project.
Inspiration
Concept Development

After research and survey collection I started sketching and dividing my concepts into three separate sections; Traditional, Unconventional, and Moto inspired. After this I further developed a moto inspired design that became the final design.

Unconventional Style
Moto Style
Final Design

The final design was a combination of an unconventional frame design and moto inspired styling and tank. The final CAD model was done in Autodesk Alias, rendered in Keyshot and touched up in Photoshop.
